Natural Engagement Photos

Theresa and Dillon had an extended engagement sessions with me, as they so kindly offered to be the feature couple in my little promotional video, which you can find on the About page of this website.

Theresa and Dillon are wonderful people and make for great models. They are easy going, photogenic and like to have a good time. We started our time together near the Roundhouse Community Centre in Yaletown. We got some fun shots in this area, and also did fair bit of filming here.  I love the combination of gently posed photos and more candid moments that we captured. There are also lots of simple, classic images with them looking right at the camera, or just having a moment together, which are among my favourite. Often the simplest photos are the best – when you can feel the couple, their personality and emotion, despite them just standing or sitting, looking at the camera. There is also a subtle artistic flair to many of these images, which comes from composition. It’s just enough to make the images more interesting and pleasing to look at.

Dylan is a musician and took out his guitar for us on a few separate occasions. As the sun started to go down we made our way to Jericho Beach, to get a few shots with the water, sand and mountains. We set up a little picnic area and explored around the waters edge. I love so many of the images from this session, partly because they are beautiful photos of a beautiful couple, but also because they evoke a great memory for me, as I humbly made a little video about what I do…
