Mina and Sushi had a beautiful intimate wedding in Queen Elizabeth Park. It is special to be a part of weddings like this, where only a dozen guests are present and the setting is so intimate.
We started off by walking around the park, getting some beautiful portraits of the couple. Mina and Sushi were very genuine and relaxed for their photos. There is a gentleness in them and in their relationship, and that really comes through in the photos. They also have a playful side and wonderful sense of humour.
The weather was great for photos, as it was overcast, but bright. After photos, we carried on with plans for an outdoor ceremony, on the grass. The sun had peeked through a few times, and it looked like the rain would hold off for the afternoon. The ceremony was quite short and we followed it up with a few family shots. And then it began to drizzle…. within 1-2 minutes it was POURING rain! We took the umbrellas and headed to the restaurant. Half way there the rain was coming down so intensely that the entire group took shelter under a tree for a few minutes. Everyone was smiling despite getting soaked.
Some appetizers and drinks awaited us inside, and everyone seemed to dry off and settle very quickly. Lunch was served and the guests had a chance to talk, spend time, laugh and share stories. It was a wonderful afternoon and a wedding I am grateful to have been a part of.
A special thanks to Natsuko and Etsuko from Emflowers, who organized the wedding and were on hand, making sure the day flowed along seamlessly, which it did!
