I first met Kathleen and Cam over Skype, as they were planning their wedding from England. We met for the first time just days before the wedding, but even then we felt like old friends. Both of them are so relaxed, easy-going and happy-go-lucky.
Their Brockhouse wedding was an intimate affair. Kathleen and her close family and friends were getting ready there, while Cam and his crew arrived early to greet the guests. Brockhouse is one of the most beautiful locations in the city to have a ceremony. The setting is outdoors on the grass, with a few beautiful trees towering overhead, and of course the ocean and mountains in the background. I always imagine how the out of town guests must feel, as the setting is quite a testament to Vancouver’s beauty.
After the ceremony we took some photos with the bridal party and then Kathleen and Cam and I, along with my assistant, went down to the beach to get a few photos of the two of them. The weather was perfect for wedding photos at Jericho beach – it slightly overcast but bright and very peaceful. We got some wonderful photos of the two of them – a mix of intimate portraits and fun, lively candids. From the beach we headed to a park in Yaletown, where we got some more beautiful photos of the two of them. Kathleen in particular is a natural and is totally at ease in the photos. I always tell my couples that I don’t need anything from them, other than to enjoy each other’s company; I can do the rest. Together they were extremely relaxed and clearly enjoyed each other’s company!
The reception was held at the False Creek Yacht Club, overlooking Granville Island from the downtown side of the water. It was a beautiful setting and a fun, laughter filled evening!
All the best Kathleen and Cam!
